A continuation of the themed lunches from Alice in Wonderland yesterday which was a celebration of Lewis Carroll’s 181st birthday yesterday, I made another two lunches inspired by the scenes in Alice in Wonderland.
Z2 has a simple bento inspired by the Caterpillar and the mushroom, one side of which would make Alice taller, the other side would make her shorter. The Caterpillar is made of rice wrapped with inari (sweetened soy bean sheets) and nori features.
Z1 has a bento inspired by the Queen’s Croquet Ground, with 3 live playing cards painting the roses in a rose bush red. The playing cards are made of rice with the diamonds and clubs cut out freehand from nori, and their faces made of rice balls wrapped with inari. The rose bush with roses painted red are represented by broccoli with red picks.
“Off with their heads!”

I’m adding this to the linky party at BentOnBetterLunches. Have you checked out those great lunches?
