Schools are closed today and tomorrow for Chinese New Year, so it was the perfect chance to make the kids’ lunches in muffin tins today. Z1 used an old muffin tray, Z2 used a heart shaped silicon Wilton tray I picked up last week.
In their lunches – kueh lapisĀ (Indonesian layer cake), grapes, heart shaped strawberries, a heart shaped jam sandwich holding a heart, a small apple (you can see its really small to fit into a muffin cavity), and cheddar and swiss cheese cut in heart shapes and layered with a quail egg underneath.
Overhead during lunch:-
Z1 to Z2: My tray is strong, your tray is weak and wobbly.
Z2 (obviously upset): My tray is strong too! Mommy, my tray is strong, right?
These kids never fail to squabble, even during lunch!
This lunch is linked to Muffin Tin Monday.

I love the presentation and the idea of using muffin tray
Cute! Love the heart sandwich! Nothing wrong with a lunch debate
Thank you! Ha ha it is interesting to listen to them, until I have to step in when Z2 starts crying LOL.
The squabble cracked me up! Not liking the tears aspect … that was always my role growing up, too.
Urgh I can imagine! Must have felt awful in those days growing up. Thanks for dropping by though!
So pretty! Love them.
